ESSENCE CubeSat Project

A multi-year project to launch 3U CubeSat by Q4 2022. I designed all electrical systems including six custom PCBs designed in KiCAD, wire harness design and diagrams, all associated testing procedures, bill of materials, and 3D printing of testing equipment. I also project managed team of seven where they preformed testing, and simulation of designs. In addition to project management I also collaborated with other disciplines to integrate final product.

Main On Board Controller, Solar Panels, and Battery are all space grade off the shelf components with proven reliability.

Custom Development PCBs

RAM Board is used to add additional volatile and non-volatile memory to development microcontroller. Non-flight camera interface board is used to experiment with how to interface with camera in a controlled environment. Crowbar protection board is used to protect the FlatSat in case of failure of power supply or user error.
